These individuals, a mix of students and alumni from the esteemed Family Business program at Ciputra University in Surabaya, were set to explore the depths of professional acumen, family business legacies, and the art of networking in the world of entrepreneurship.
Day 1: A Day of Company Visits and Networking
The adventure began as the group landed in Jakarta, their first stop being the vibrant Yello Hotel Harmoni. Nestled in the heart of the city, this 3-star hotel would be their base for the next few days.
Their first day was packed with excitement as they visited Citra Garden City for a firsthand look at the projects that have shaped its landscape. Walking through the developments, they gained insights into the meticulous planning and execution required in the real estate industry. The highlight was a lunch session with the Citra Garden team, where conversations flowed around business strategies and the challenges of the market.
Following this enriching visit, the group proceeded to Wisma HaloBCA for another enlightening company visit. Here, they delved into discussions on professionalism in business, learning valuable lessons on corporate conduct and etiquette. The participants engaged in conversations about the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in running a family enterprise. They learned how these principles not only build trust among stakeholders but also lay a strong foundation for long-term success.
As the day drew to a close, the participants found themselves at the Jakarta Design Center, where they engaged in a networking dinner and business speed dating event with members from JCI Nusantara. This was a prime opportunity for them to expand their network, forging connections with potential partners from a diverse community.
Day 2: Unveiling the Ciputra Legacy
The second day dawned with a visit to Raffles Hotel Jakarta, setting the stage for an insightful session at the Ciputra Headquarters. Mr. Harun Hajadi, a beacon of wisdom in the world of family business, led an inspiring session on professionalism and the intricacies of managing a family enterprise.
Mr. Hajadi emphasized the importance of professionalism within the context of family businesses. He highlighted that while family businesses offer unique advantages such as shared values, trust, and a long-term outlook, they also face distinct challenges, particularly when it comes to balancing family dynamics with business decisions. Next on the agenda was the Ciputra Artpreneur session with Mr. Antonius Tanan. Here, the participants were immersed in the Ciputra Way, exploring the intersection of art and entrepreneurship. As evening approached, a grand business networking dinner awaited the participants, providing them with a platform to showcase their own family businesses. Each participant had the opportunity to present and promote their ventures, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding among the group.

On the final day of this enriching journey, the group gathered at Samudera Indonesia for a sharing session. Here, they delved into the success story of Samudera Indonesia, learning valuable lessons on resilience and adaptability in the business world. Discussions on family constitutions and professional management of family businesses opened new avenues of understanding for the participants.
The culmination of their trip was a visit to PT Kawan Lama, a renowned name in the business landscape. Led by Mr. Kuncoro Wibowo, Chairman of Kawan Lama Group, the participants gained firsthand insights into the journey of a professional and successful business. Their office tour and interactions with the team left them inspired and eager to implement new strategies in their own ventures.
As the program came to an end, reflections filled the air. The participants had not only learned from industry experts and successful entrepreneurs but had also formed lasting bonds with each other.
